Bridget is a heritage and diaspora language comprehension app. The Service delivers short AI-generated video scenarios in your target language, paired with lightweight comprehension moments, to help first-generation families and cross-cultural couples understand — not just speak — their heritage language.

The Service is built on comprehensible input methodology and is designed for passive comprehension development, not speaking or grammar drilling.

You must be at least 13 years of age to use the Service. If you are between 13 and 18, you may only use the Service with the consent of a parent or legal guardian. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet these eligibility requirements.

6.1 AI-Generated Content

The Service delivers AI-generated video scenarios, characters, and dialogue. This content is generated programmatically and is designed to be culturally grounded and linguistically authentic. However, we make no guarantee that AI-generated content will be perfectly accurate, complete, or free from errors. You should not rely on any content within the Service as a definitive linguistic or cultural reference.

6.2 User-Provided Information

If you provide feedback, responses, or other data through the Service (including comprehension check responses), you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use that data to improve the Service, develop our comprehension corpus, and enhance our adaptive learning algorithms. We will handle this data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Certain features may incorporate content from third-party sources. We are not responsible for the accuracy, availability, or appropriateness of third-party content.

7. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of the Service — including AI-generated scenarios, characters, comprehension logic, adaptive algorithms, and the Bridget name and branding — are the exclusive property of Bridget and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you any ownership interest in the Service or its content.

SMS/MMS/RCS Messaging Terms

By providing your mobile phone number and opting in to Bridget’s messaging program, you agree to receive recurring SMS, MMS, and/or RCS messages from Bridget. These messages may include daily language lesson briefings, comprehension practice drills, adaptive review questions, reminders, progress updates, and account-related messages.

You may opt in by entering your phone number on https://joinbridget.org and checking the consent box, or by texting START to Bridget’s published phone number after viewing our opt-in instructions.

Message frequency varies based on your interaction with Bridget, your account settings, and your learning activity. Message and data rates may apply. Message delivery is not guaranteed and may depend on your mobile carrier, device, and network availability.

Consent to receive text messages from Bridget is not a condition of purchase.

You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any Bridget message. After replying STOP, you may receive one final message confirming that you have been unsubscribed. You can reply START to opt back in.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, for any reason, including violation of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. Sections 6, 7, 9, 10, 11, and 14 survive termination.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in a court of competent jurisdiction. You waive any right to a jury trial or to participate in a class action.
